  • A great family friendly place to visit, interesting displays and a fair variety in the gift shop. The place is a bit of a maze, and some areas could do with a bit of refurbishment but in general it's a great place to be and in such a magnificent building in the heart of Bristol.
  • Enjoyed this museum. Really nice cafe, galleries quite well presented. Perhaps a bit dated in places but for a free museum we thought it was great. We will be returning with our children.
  • If you're looking for a place to visit whilst you're in Bristol, this museum should definitely be on your list. The dinosaur and other extinct species exhibits are genuinely interesting, and the museum also does themed exhibits from time to time. One such exhibit my fiancée and I saw recently was "Death", which explored many ancient traditions of burying the dead, as well as how belief in spirits and the afterlife differed amongst cultures. Whether you're a a history buff or simply have a passing interest, there's surely something here to capture your intrigue.
  • Nice visit. Would have liked to stay longer. Will probably visit again if I have time to do so.
  • In a word, disappointing. The building is beautiful, the ground floor is not to bad but as you go through the building there are descriptions that are damaged, some displays are broken, lightbulbs have blown and not been replaced, basically it's seen better days. Don't get me wrong, if you live near and are just in need of somewhere to go on a rainy day it's fine, but across the river in Cardiff is a much better example.
