  • Blaise Hamlet was fun to see. They are very quaint cottages around a beutiful green. They were built for pensioners of the estate and what a lovely cottage to retire too. There is not a huge amount of things here; no toilets, shop, parking (there is parking on the road next to the houses but not an official National Trust car park), you can't go in to the houses (there are tenants in them) and you can't have picnics on the green. Given all of that the cottages really are very pretty to look at. It's definitely worth a visit if you are near by. I would recommend.
  • Just incredible!! You will feel like you've walked in to a film set; Hobbiton meets Midsummer Murders and so unexpected in this delightful corner of Bristol. Worth a visit by itself by combined with a stroll around Blaise Castle as well I can thoroughly recommend
  • Pretty preserved cottages around the village green. Takes about 15 minutes to see it all. Worth combining with a visit to nearby Blaise Castle
  • This is my second visit to Blaise hamlet and I can say that after fifty years it has not changed one bit. Well done National Trust. The houses are interesting to see but I don't really think that it is much of a place for kids, nothing to do.
  • Blaise Hamlet is a quaint little plot of ground owned by the National Trust on which a sun dial has been built and around which are small cottages reminiscent of the sort one sees in fantasy films such as Snow White, with diamond-paned windows, thick thatched rooves and large chimneys. The cottages are inhabited, so it's best not to try to peek through the windows.
