British Airways i360, Brighton

Observation Deck · Landmark
British Airways i360 is a 162 m (531 ft) observation tower on the seafront of Brighton, East Sussex, England at the landward end of the former West Pier. The tower opened on 4 August 2016. From the fully enclosed viewing pod, visitors experience 360-degree views across Brighton, the South Downs and the English Channel.

British Airways i360 was designed, engineered, manufactured and promoted by the team responsible for the London Eye. The attraction cost £46 million, with £36 million being funded by a Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) loan through Brighton and Hove city council.

Formerly known as the "Brighton i360", the project aimed to attract 739,000 paying customers every year. The owner of the site, the West Pier Trust, hoped in 2014 that a successful i360 would lead to the rebuilding of the historic West Pier.

  • A must do if you are in the area of Brighton! It was a great experience, amazing views of the area. They have a bar on board which serve unique drinks. Try the one with the local rock candy, it’s delicious. I have a fear of heights but it goes up and down very slowly so it’s not that bad. Really enjoyed this experience
  • Staff made a real effort to make it a 'flight' that was fun & remembered. Its an interesting experience that gives you a different perspective of Brighton & the sea. The only thing that I would change is the photo experience that is an additional requirement - you have to pose for a photo prior to the flight & then after you are given the option of buying the photo. I think this cheapens the experience & more focus should be put on affordable souvenirs & gifts. Overall though it was a different & enjoyable way to spend a morning.
  • Absolutely stunning! So worth it. The staff are kind and helpful and made you feel welcome! The views are just amazing and I recommend taking your loved ones. Very romantic
  • Such a fascinating and amazing attraction. Absolutely worth the price. Ticket buying and boarding is very easy with no fuss. The waiting area before you board is filled with seating and has the history of how it was built so you can keep occupied whilst waiting. There is even WiFi whilst you are up there so you post on social media. Brilliant!
  • Awesome view and a memorable date. You get about 25 minutes on the ride including ascending/descending. It moves so smoothly you won't feel it. I didn't get any motion sickness. Theres a bar that serves alcohol and DJ playing music I recommend trying it at least once.
