  • Fabulous place to visit for such a good price! Plenty of parking available. Beautiful surroundings to walk round and a lovely walled garden with a Wizard of Oz theme with characters made from every day items. Flowers looked lovely too. There is a fab and cheap nursery there too that sell some great plants!! The house is great with plenty to do Inside for kids to do. Staff were so friendly towards our little one and got her involved in things. You can borrow an explorer pack as well for kids which will keep them well entertained. Also some dressing up and old fashioned toys for kids to play with. There is also a lovely little zoo with a few animals to see and well looked after. Cafe is good too and plenty of areas to eat a picnic. You can also take a lovely long walk down across the sea front to the town centre from here or take a land train. Definatley a good place to visit and a must do if in Yorkshire area.
  • Beautiful surroundings, great place for a picnic and to keep the little ones entertained! Great areas to run around with a ball, sit and eat picnic and a large house to discover the history of the site. Also the ice cream in the cafe is one of the best I've ever had.
  • Fabulous place to visit and good value for money. Access to home, garden and animals all included in the price. Staff and curators were extremely helpful. Sandwich bought from cafe reasonably priced for that sort of venue. Would definitely go again.
  • A great place for a day out. Lovely gardens, especially the walled garden. Pitch and putt and there is a putting green. Small zoo with lots of variety of animals. A nice woodland walk. A very nice cafe. We spend a lot of time here. Only 4 stars as when there with a 5 year old in the afternoon in July, light nights, they started clearing away the outside toys that are there way before closing time. As it is quite expensive to get in I think they shouldn't put them away until half an hour before closure. He was upset. We adults really enjoyed the table tennis.
  • We stayed here as a family of 5 with 2 kids under 5 and the cottage (Chestnut Cottage) was brilliant. Lovely and clean, great facilities and a great garden. You also get free entry anytime to the Hall and grounds and we were lucky enough to be here on a family fun day which was brilliant. Check in was so easy and the zoo etc was brilliant. When you stay you also get free land train tickets and a round of golf on site too Definitely worth a visit or stay we loved it and will return
