  • Lovely simple teahouse that has retained its old aesthetic and shows off it's heritage with pictures of the family working the bakery. The food was simple but tasty, and not badly priced. We did feel the ploughman's could do better with a thick chunk of bread instead of two small rolls but the chicken and meat were very tasty. (Smoked locally in mikes smoke house) Service is simple but this isn't a fancy table service restaurant it is a small teahouse and they are very friendly and helpful.
  • Best cream tea in the world, in one of the most picturesque spots. Couldn't ask for more.
  • This place definitely changed hands. I used to love arriving here after a long walk. It had great food, great drinks, even local ale. Now it has turned into just another mundane place with no imagination, laminated ugly menus, and characterless furniture and mediocre food. The 'service' was also extremely disappointing, to say the least. I hope they get inspired.
  • Exactly as I would expect from an old period building, full of character,. Courteous staff, nice setting., lovely cream teas. Happy to recommend
  • Must have changed hands. Very disappointing. Price of cakes and scones seems to have doubled and size halved. Not as good as it used to be. Will not be coming back.
