Beach
Follow a winding path down from the heights of rolling green hills and cliffside to the shingle beach of Branscombe Beach. Here the cliffs rise steeply overlooking the crashing waves below and you'll find colorful fishing boats pulled up onto the pebbles. In 2007, the beach made history when a container ship, MSC Napoli, was forced to beach here during a heavy storm. The ship's anchor, weighing 28,000 lbs (14 tons) still rests here to this day. A quaint cafe right on the beach serves homemade cakes and hot chocolate. • Parking is good - park at the forge and walk down or at the car park by the beach. For the more adventurous you can take the high path from the church. Beach is stony but plenty of room.  more »
  • Wow, so unspoilt, beach chalets and cafe and the sea and rolling hills, car parking £1.00 per hour and according to other people do not overstay as they will charge you so keep your tickets. reminded ...  more »
