  • Visited this fishery for the first time. Fly only fishery (although they do have a kids lake and glamping). Caught my PB Rainbow Trout of 8 pounds, saw other fish landed to 15 pounds! Some huge fish i...  more »
  • Lovely tranquil place to fish or just to watch the world go by. Now has a brilliant cafe and wood lodges to stay in. Love it.  more »

  • We had a fishing party for my six year old son here last week. The location is just off the A69 and easy to find. There is plenty of parking, although don't park near to the big lake as you'll get your car hit by an angler casting off. The staff were very helpful and patient, all equipment was provided and they made sure my Son caught a fish. The kids had a good time, although there was a lot of standing around and I wouldn't recommend it for smaller children. The adults enjoyed it too and it was reasonably priced. Overall it was good. Only criticisms I could make were that the food could have been better, the pizzas being a bit soggy and the chicken drumsticks didn't look appetizing. I would recommend bringing your own party picnic boxes. Also the path round the pond is lined with gravel on top, which is missing in places which meant it was a bit slippery. I lost my footing and fell over, as did at least one other adult.
  • Fantastic day out for the family, even if you're new to fishing. In fact, this is THE place to go if you are new to trout fishing. The kids loved that you catch the fish and take it home for tea! Brilliant day of fishing, followed by a fresh, healthy and super tasty tea of trout!
  • Took 7 kids. All had great day. Facilities were good. Food excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
  • Well looks hood &is very good James &dave all look after you Thangs lads Vic /Burnley angling
  • Outstanding. Very very very well run. Extremely friendly and welcoming when you enter and very quick to tell you about the pride they take in quality of their fish. This becomes apparent when you catch. Tried the cafe on site for some dinner as recommended to try by the manager/owner? and it was excellent and again very friendly service inside. The place I would say is more of a specimen water, With fish that are big in size and I lost a couple of very large fish shaken off the barbless hooks.. maybe next time. Had a stunning fin perfect brown trout around 4.5-5pound in weight. Although the water is compact the atmosphere was great with surrounding anglers happy to assist with netting if needed and also to let you have space when hooking into one of the bigger fish! This makes the whole experience 100x Better. I would not say it's the place to catch quantity but if your looking for quality and potentially personal best size fish and in a very professional and friendly environment.. this is without doubt the place to go.
