  • Absolutely stunning country home and surroundings! Peace and quiet, stunning views, fresh clean pine air and a plethora of amazing wildlife ☆♡♧
  • IF one held the title of Kretzschmar THEN he, she, or IT just might want to relocate to this fine establishment with Weather Meteorologist and TV Personality Cheryl Scott of ABC 7 Chicago to board up and brew some good old fashion artificial intelligence. I can imagine the fermentation well as charred twigs and would be used to randomly index shapes whereby THEN be interpreted into WORDS and then the mathematical mean (μ) of a smoky quartz kernɡôrm made from electrolyte rich astatine, silicon, tantalum & titanium could mead a brew to pour out upon humanity in such a way so as we could teach it to play nice with the humans. I'm looking forward to this notion in another reality called imagination.
  • Attended a wedding here. Just beautiful.
  • Came to Mar Lodge to attend a family wedding and made a weekend of it, staying from the Friday through to the Monday. One word kept coming to mind in regards to location, venue and accommodation - WOW!, Stayed in the lodge, Creag Bhalg for the weekend. Being on one level it enabled us to stay in one location as a family (7 of us) along with our elderly mother (84 years of age), so that when she decided it was time for her to retire from the wedding, leaving us younger ones to enjoy the party, it was only a short distance from the main lodge for her to retire to, giving her and the remainder of the family peace of mind we were within walking distance of her. At the end of the evening it was only a very pleasant 10-15 minute stroll to the lodge. The lodge was of an excellent country style standard, very clean, very comfy beds/pillows, bathrooms spotless, sitting room very comfy and homely, great family kitchen area. Again the WOW! word coming out when I saw the great views to the surrounding countryside from the windows, very relaxing watching/listening to some of the local wildlife, deer, cuckoo, various birds, red squirrel with the sound of the river Dee flowing only a short distance away. Only disappointment was........I had to leave on the Monday. Would definitely come back and stay here, next time for a longer period and participate in some of the estate organised activities, it is just under a 1½ hr drive from Aberdeen so have no excuse not to. Had been thinking of going exploring this time but don't think, after the great hospitality of the wedding, my body would have appreciated it!. Keep up the excellent standards all, hopefully see you sometime in the near future!
  • At over £2100 for the week I think the property is grossly over priced, Only the main door opened, the 4 bedroom doors leading to the garden had locks that did not work, a Mar Lodge employee told us that the room doors had faulty locks for over a year, surely a serious fault in the case of fire, a large property sleeping eight in four bedrooms with only one exit. The carpets and seats were very grubby, stained and dirty. I would not recommend this property to anyone, especially
