  • Bagpipes, beer, whiskey, tug of war, Queen Elisabeth. Yes you get with you all here. Our first day in Scotland. We started with a breakfast at the local cafe with typical english breakfast then a parade with bagpipes came by. We had with us lot politely and ended the day at a local pub where Queen Elisabeth vehicle drove past. She's there every year, and nearby, she has his summer house you can go and look at.

  • Great time with the children Loved every moment of it I want to be a highlander. But I can't as I'm not from there Great games.
  • I would have to say that this was my favourite day in Scotland, the games are a must see for visitors and seeing the Queen was definitely a highlight . If you can this is a must do while in Scotland

  • Great events with a great atmosphere. Also the queen usually goes however the press block your view. Weather could have been better but I guess that's Scotland
  • The Braemar Gathering is definitely worth a trip. It is the only Highland games where the Queen comes for a visit. We spent all day long watching and there was always something going on. Definitely recommend.
  • Went there in Mid-Late 1970's for Highland Games (Drummer in '100 Pipers' Pipe Band), staying at the Spittal Hotel, all expenses paid (almost). Stayed for a few days. Although pretty isolated, there was a lot to see locally with beautiful Scenery and some interesting Wildlife (Local, Seasonal)
