Specialty Museum Museum
Peruse galleries that immortalize the UK's media greats, from television to animation, at National Science and Media Museum, a paradise of screens. The museum features seven floors of galleries that showcase everything from photography to videogaming and the Internet. In 1998, some of the BBC's offices relocated to the building, making this a fully operational film research facility and professional space. Make sure to visit the "Magic Factory," where you can conduct hands-on experiments with light and color to discover how they are used in film. Both the animation and gaming galleries have classic games that you can play. All seven floors of galleries are free; however, you must buy a ticket to the three cinemas located inside the building, including an IMAX screen. National Science and Media Museum hosts three international film festivals annually: Bradford International Film Festival, Bradford Animation Festival, and Fantastic Films Weekend. National Science and Media Museum is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Bradford Edition.

Where to stay in Bradford

Hotel chains and less expensive accommodations populate the city center. Lodging is also scattered outside the center; however, a centralized location is safer and closer to the main attractions. A few B&Bs are hidden on the outskirts of the city and offer comfortable rooms in quiet neighborhoods.

  • Some nice staff friendly. Food looked presentable but was cold. My child had chips and sausage and beans. Chips were freezing cold sausage was cold and tasted like it had been sat around for ages. Wont be going back to the resturant part. Museum is fab though. 5 stars for that but 2 for the food.
  • Fantastic museum, lots of unique things to see and do for all ages. Our kids are 6 and 7 and they both loved it. The science shows at various times throughout the day on level 3 are especially good. Free entry, picnic area, great day out.
  • We were staying near by, it was raining and so it was a good opportunity to visit with the little ones... Turns out we had the same idea as everyone else. We had a good couple of hours exploring the exhibits, the staff were great and the young ones enjoyed themselves.
  • The best thing in Bradford. We'll worth a visit if you're a tourist or a revisit if your a local. The new exhibition was excellent. Recommended for kids and adults alike. Combine with a trip to a curry house or a splash in the swamp at centernary square
  • Wonderful place for kids of all ages as well as adults. Has had some great photo exhibitions. Shop & cafe quite expensive but that's par for the course as far as museums go. Do put a donation in the box
