(3.6/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
The Model Village is a one-ninth-scale replica of the Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water, officially opened in 1937. Its remarkable detail took local craftsmen five years to create. The model represents how the town looked in the 30's and provides an interesting glimpse into the past. Examine the details of the village and discover its quirks and delights. Stand close to the town’s churches to hear the choir singing. Be sure to look out for the model of the Model Village itself. For a small surcharge you can also visit the Miniature World exhibition of highly detailed miniature scenes and room sets, including several moving miniature characters. The creation of this exhibition involved over 100 of England’s leading miniaturist craftsmen and women. • This is a real tribute to the history and architecture of the Cotswolds and this village. It is a must see if you are in the region
  • We mostly went here for our child, but were pleasantly surprised by how interesting it was. It's basically exactly what it says -- the village of Bourton reproduced on small scale -- but the level of ...  more »
  • This is such a cute little exhibit! Great for kids but would easily appeal to adults too. I stumbled across this when walking back to my car from the town and so glad I went in and had a look!!

  • A lovely model village at a price that won't bankrupt you and your family. It is a scaled 1:9 of bourton itself. The houses are well made and the upkeep of the place is very good. You won't be there all day ,maybe an hour at the most.there is also a miniature world which you have to pay an additional £1 each to see, but it is very good. All in all I nice little afternoon place to visit.
  • Had a really nice time with the kids here. There's an amazing amount of detail in the models and was a really nice environment. The washroom facilities were excellent.
  • Charming beyond measure. Sounds lame on paper but looking at all the lovingly created details is a true joy.
  • Definitely worth a visit after seeing the town, much better than I had anticipated with excellent models of the buildings.
  • Bit of a damp, drizzly day. Nice model village albeit a little dated and worn.
