#2 of 18 in Things to do in Bourton-on-the-Water
Discover exotic and rare birds as you explore Birdland, set in 4 hectares (9 acres) of gardens and woodland. Flamingos, pelicans, cranes, storks, cassowary, and waterfowl live in the riverside habitat with parrots, owls, pheasants, hornbills, touracos, and many more inhabiting over 50 aviaries. Warm up by visiting the temperate and desert houses, which are home to birds who enjoy hotter and drier conditions. Stretch your legs by exploring Marshmouth Nature reserve, a secluded 1 hectare (2.5 acre) trail through marshland, ponds, meadow, and copse with views over the River Windrush. Check the website beforehand for the shedule of bird feedings and “meet the keeper” sessions. To plan Bourton-on-the-Water vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.

  • Huge amounts of fun for young and old alike. The birds here are incredible - it really is quite an extraordinary place to go. It would be a 5 star review if they offered better (and maybe cheaper) food, but then again there are plenty of nice places to eat in the surrounding area. If you like birds, then this is definitely one NOT to miss!
  • Fab place- my 5year old had his birthday party/day out here. with nine friends. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We played games on the grassy areas, enjoyed finding dinosaurs and meeting some real live birds close-up! Great party food provided by the cafe, too. Thank you to all the staff there for being so accommodating!!!
  • Very friendly, good prices (I guess) *SPOILER ALERT AHEAD* well, you start off with seeing the penguins, I loved it, then I saw the birds. The ice-cream wasn't open (that's a shame) so I had to go to the flamingo point cafe ;-; Then, I went to see some baby chicks, rabbits, and guinea pigs. There are turtles you can meet free of charge but no dogs there Talking of dogs, you are allowed to bring some. For anyone afraid of dogs (ME) the dogs are small, and not excited. But of course this could be different for you. There was Jurassic Journey, but I didn't like it. But I think your son/whatever will like it tho. It's very nice, and like a zoo. All the birds (most) are in a cage, and they are quite aggressive. Hope you like it there! Tesla_Voltage.R
  • Excellent day out for the kids and grown-ups. Loads to see and experience. Highly recommended for all age groups to see exotic birds and dinosaur models.
  • Visited yesterday with my 18 month old Son and he loved the place, so many birds to see and you could get so close to all of them, he especially loved the penguins at the start. I would recommend a visit and they even have a dinosaur encounter too, nice family day out.
