  • Great way to pass an hour especially on a rainy day if you have a dog with you as it’s dog friendly. Very interesting.  more »
  • Great little museum in a beautiful location. The exhibits are housed over 2 floors in a number of smallish rooms, but the presentation is excellent. Like any museum how much you get out of it depends ...  more »

  • A well curated and nicely explained collection of mostly English magic. It does not take sides in its description and portrayal - instead it explains the evolution and history of every exhibit in depth. There was not enough time to properly read and examine every exhibit in 4 hours. I especially liked their emphasis on exhibiting the local folklore magic "of the hills" right next to a rigorously explained section on all kinds of really regimented ritual magic. What a juxtaposition! I would definitely recommend a visit. They do allow non-flash photography. There are stairs, and usually quite a few people, so try and divine a less busy time to come, because the reading does take quite some time.
  • Really interesting little museum in Boscastle. Lots of unusual and fascinating exhibits and information about the history of witchcraft. Definitely makes you feel sorry for those women of the past because of how they were treated. Takes about an hour to get round if you read everything. My 8-year old loves this place and we visit every time we come to this part of Cornwall.
  • A huge amount of fascinating stuff too look at in the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic but if I'm honest it perhaps felt too dense. Especially the written boards/plaques of text, there was so much to read! Perhaps if you know a bit about the exhibits already then the extra information would be appreciated but, as someone who really knows nothing about witchcraft, I found it too difficult to sift out the genuinely essential/enlightening information and soon switched to simply looking at the objects and ignoring most of the written info. At only £5 admission though, I cannot really complain.
  • We went to a evening story event in the library, then had a day visit to the museum and later viewed the summer solstice artworks which were beautiful. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the entry fee is a fair price. The museum is in a picturesque location beside the harbour. The exhibits are interesting although only a few predate the 20th century. Visitors of all beliefs are able to explore a rich local and national history of magic, witchcraft and folklore including the benevolent, malign and bizarre. I enjoyed learning about the Cecil Williamson, original curator, and his curiosity, knowledge and gentle sense of mischief lives on in this wonderful collection.
  • Fantastic place. Visited this site during our honeymoon and I would definitely recommend going as I will be coming back. The small sanctuary at the back of the gift shop is such a beautiful addition to the place. So much history and information in this place! Amazing!
