  • I am fully onboard for supporting our local museum and aquarium but I feel the aquarium is under funded. Could do with abit of modernisation. However, regardless of this, its free and always worth popping into whilst in the town centre.
  • Absolute lack of respect for life! Upon entry, there's a taxidermied wolf dressed in a nightgown - a life was taken for this insult. You'll find more of this disrespectful behaviour as you walk around. The worst thing about this place is the ivory on display. The ivory artifacts are not pieces of significant pieces of history and should be destroyed. Why does this place encourage the trafficking of ivory and condone the killing of elephants? My 8 year old was appalled and asked to leave!
  • Great if you have kids under 10 and it's free. Can easily spend 1 hour looking at all the displays and aquarium.
  • I keep many tropical fish so made a special day to visit one of the last remaining public aquaria and visit a town I'd never been to. The aquarium is great if you want to see something out of the ordinary my personal favourites where the sulawasi setup and the celestial pearl danio/galaxy rasbora tank. It's a great example of how to create something beautiful with limited tank space, a good planted aquascape and complimentary species created a lovely pair of tanks. I'd like to see a couple of benches in the aquarium to take my time to see the dynamic of the tank but I was very happy with my trip.
  • We spend a great time at the museum. The staff were very friendly and gave us a lot of information. They answered all the questions from the children. One area was closed, so only 4 stars.
