  • Lovely nature walk/ cycle trail. Good play parks for kids and tasty food in the cafe. If you take your dog though, please remember to clean up after it!!
  • Great place for mountain biking and walking. Choice of trails to suit ability, wonderful scenery in a beautiful location. Great tea shop to refuel at after a strenuous ride or hike. Can't wait to go again.
  • Lovely walks in the woods. Lots of places to picnic with built in bbqs too. We did the gruffalo trail which was just the right length for the little legs we were with. (6,5,4 and 3) Bit of dog poo around on the trail tho. 😡
  • A great wood with excellent walks, bike treks etc, suitable for all ages also have a small safe with good food and a a small play park
  • Beautiful woodland and good bike trails, but... Gruffalo trail for kids is very disappointing... Nothing more than a few plastic signs scattered around a fairly uninteresting gravelled route. Even when you find the "gruffalo" at the end, it's just another plastic sign. Worse still is the "Gruffalo Spotters Pack" which is £3 for a paper bag, a few leaflets and stickers and a credit card shaped "magnifying glass". This should be £1 at most... or maybe free with a purchase from the cafe? After feeling so ripped off by this, we chose not to stop at the café so ultimately they probably profited less from us. No card payment for parking so you need to have £5 cash with you to park for the day, or hope you have a phone signal to pay by phone. Disappointing compared to many other forestry commission sites.
