Cateran Trail, Blairgowrie

(4.8/5 based on 95+ reviews on the web)
Lace up your boots and delve into the lush landscape of the Scottish countryside on Cateran Trail, a circular route taking you through the verdant heart of the nation. Make your way north of Edinburgh to begin the 103 km (64 mi) loop, fully signposted along its length and divided into five general stages. As you wander across farmlands accented with historical stone walls and hills rich with trees, you'll pass through timeless villages and ancient glens. Plenty of country pubs along the route serve as stopping points for a pint or a bite to eat. While tackling the entire trail is a multi-day endeavor, you can certainly get a taste of the region by simply walking a small section. Keep an eye out for the trail's logo along the way: a red-and-white heart symbol within a green ring, denoting the path. Plan your visit to Cateran Trail and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Blairgowrie itinerary builder.
