  • we walked along the beach path to visit the caves and at parts it can be a wee bit tricky but at the end it was well worth the challenge a must see in arran  more »
  • started at blackwaterfroot, walked to the golf coarse and then cut up over the moors before we started our descent to the waterfront, then along to the caves, however on our way back we took the beech...  more »
  • 3.5 miles walk but worth the effort involves a bit of a climb not for infirm however stunning views and great historic place to visit  more »

  • Geologically speaking, very interesting. Brilliant examples of metre scale cross bedding and cataclastic bands. There's an interesting small cave to the north that can be looked into, and nice views from the caves along the walk north and south.
  • In the caves there are ancient inscriptions on the walls , dating back to the 1600s and the cave is still open to the public, take a torch.
