The Blackpool Tower, Blackpool

3.9
#1 of 6 in Sightseeing in Blackpool
Observation Deck Theme Park
Take in some of the best views of northwest England from the top of The Blackpool Tower. The city's version of the Eiffel Tower opened in 1894 and stands about 158 m (518 ft) tall. Today it holds a place on Britain's list of Grade I buildings for its architectural and historical significance. Head into the 4-D cinema at the bottom for a special effects-enhanced history of Blackpool's iconic tower. Next, take the elevator up to the glass-enclosed skywalk for a panorama of the Irish Sea and the Blackpool area. On a clear day, you'll be able to see the Isle of Man sitting between England and Ireland. Do check the weather before visiting, though, because high winds occasionally restrict access to the top. • Fantastic views of Blackpool and the surrounding areas from the top of tower and the glass floor was amazing. however, there needs to be a separate queue and payment method for those that just want to go to the Eye itself, quite a few people including myself don't care about having a dozen photographs taken of yourself with background effects which are pricey or spend 15 minutes waiting to enter the 4D cinema in which is a film about the Tower and Blackpool itself which don't get me wrong was cool but didn't really want to be in there and they should be a warning for photographers having there cameras wet when being splashed with the water when having them out. Some of us just want to look at the view. and £10.50 for a 4D show & a view point is a little steep I think £5.50 sounds about right.
  • This is a must-visit in Blackpool. The ballroom is awesome, the prices at the bar are really good and we must have spent an hour watching the dancing while the superb Wurlitzer was played expertly. The tower itself is great with a nice little bar at the top and the opportunity to go outside. It's a shame the netting used is so thick and tightly spaced, photography is all but impossible.
  • *ALWAYS GO TO THEIR WEBSITE FOR CHEAPEST TICKETS* - you can save at least 20% a person while stood in the queue. Love what they've done with the place. Staff are great, the 4D was fun. Standing on the glass floor 150 metres up is surprisingly scary!
  • An Amazing attraction, the tower eye has a great view (weather permitting), the glass floor and wall when you get out the lift is fantastic, it's nice to wander up the other levels and head out side, an feel the wind an that hight. The Ballroom is beautiful, and the music just sets the scene, great if you like ballroom dancing, but nice and relaxing too. The circus is spectacular, a variety of great acts, an mookie and Mr Boo making the whole show. The Water finally is unique and really nice to see. The whole tower is clean and has great staff, really friendly and helpful. One of my favourite places to visit.
  • Staff is so rude! A few years before it was a great and pleasant place to visit, unfortunately can't say same now. Opening hours are unclear online, we spend two days trying to go to the top of a tower but were not successful.
