The Blackpool Tower, Blackpool

3.9
#2 of 8 in Theme Parks in Lancashire
Take in some of the best views of northwest England from the top of The Blackpool Tower. The city's version of the Eiffel Tower opened in 1894 and stands about 158 m (518 ft) tall. Today it holds a place on Britain's list of Grade I buildings for its architectural and historical significance. Head into the 4-D cinema at the bottom for a special effects-enhanced history of Blackpool's iconic tower. Next, take the elevator up to the glass-enclosed skywalk for a panorama of the Irish Sea and the Blackpool area. On a clear day, you'll be able to see the Isle of Man sitting between England and Ireland. Do check the weather before visiting, though, because high winds occasionally restrict access to the top. • Thank you so much for a fantastic time at the afternoon tea and dance, from myself and my 46 guests, on the occasion of my 70th birthday. The manager and staff were exceptionally helpfully, the organists where the best and very entertaining. The Tower ballroom is a fabulous, world class, venue in which to hold an event and we will be recommending to all our families and friends. The afternoon tea was also fantastic. Once again many thanks for making such a fabulous, memorable event, one which we will be talking about for a long time to come. We are all looking forward to our next visit.
  • Great experience. The 4d was good. Enjoyed going up the tower and on to the clear glass and walking round. Ensure you use 2 for 1 offers as it's worth the paying in advance for a family of 4. Family of 4 with discount vouchers is £29.plus you get 20% discount for their gift shop with your tickets.
  • We want up the tower recently and I have to say they have now fitted a bar so you can order a soft drink or alcoholic, there is music also and a seating area with amazing views. This has meant you can easily spend twice as long up there. It's still an expensive experience especially if you take into account the photos you have and may want to purchase. The 4d film at the beginning is really good, that is well worth the experience.
  • Great place for any age group. The glass walkway at the top of the tower is awesome. Ballroom beautiful. Good meal deal in cafe. Only quibble, is the cost. Each section has to be paid for separately. Years ago we paid one price, with access to all the attractions. Plus, such a faff to get to top of tower, due to their money grabbing photo taking on offer, at least twice. Staff very good.
  • This place is great for families. The service is excellent, the facilities are good but could use some work and the circus and performances are amazing. It's really worth coming and I highly suggest you go on their "dungeons" ride. It is very well done and made. The only issues we had were with the facilities and the one rude staff member. But don't let that dissuade you, all the other staff members are a delight to speak to and are very helpful. The facilities are also pretty good, just not the best.
