Held every autumn since 1879, Blackpool Illuminations is a brilliant homage to the light bulb. The festival is also known as "The Lights" and "The Illuminations." It runs from late August until early November for 66 days. The light displays stretch from south to north along the Promenade for 10 km (6 mi), using over one million bulbs. In conjunction with the illuminated Promenade, the "Blackpool Festival of Light" showcases light and art exhibits and installations. Art cars constructed of lights make runs up and down the Promenade. Some of these trams have a long history and have won Heritage Lotteries to refurbish them to their former glory. • The illuminations remain very good but NOT as good or extensive as I seem to recall. But then again, there is more to Blackpool than the Lights
  • Ok for the usual blackpool stuff better get the kellogs cearial money off vouchers for places in Blackpool save a fortune
  • Great for a walk at night however gets abit boring after abit as they dont change the lights
  • What a lovely place to visit!! Has to be a must. Friendly people and a fantastic atmosphere.
  • Not as good as I remember the illuminations used to be and very slow traffic going through them, you'll probably be better off walking so you can pay better attention to them but OK for young kids who have never seen them before
  • Being born and raised in Blackpool, the illuminations are something I used to look forward to. The lights are outdated and are just, "the same old". Though that being said, my Niece and Nephew enjoyed them last year, and for free entertainment they aren't too bad.
