  • Have you ever seen the carry on camping film...the scene where the campsite manager charges an extra pound for things like putting up the washing line? Yeah.. well Blackburn ice arena is trying to reinact it. We were charged £25 For me and a child including skate hire. You can get £2 off if you use an ice card but As they're fazing them out, those who don't have them (because someone forgot to make them last time you turn up to collect them) then you don't get a discount... Want to pay by card .. pound Want to sit with your child and protect them from strangers... £2... per person. You'd think that was because you get the excellent facilities like a cafe... but that was closed. And the machines...well they don't even give you your items. If you leave the change bag in the car... you have to pay another £2 because you cannot return at all once you leave. There is an enormous mound in the centre...and the surface is sketchy with lumps and bumps all over. The skates are dreadful. Mine were flat and my daughter's had a kind of rust on the back blade. All in all..we felt ripped off It's only £9.50 For a 5 AND A HALF HOUR SESSION in Hemel Hempstead in LONDON. And that includes skate hire. Seriously impressive way to alienate the locals and reduce the chance of producing competitive future skaters. Boooo! Hiss!
  • The rink has benefited significantly since it became part of the Silver Blades family. The food and drink offering in the cafe being the most notable. As an ice-hockey venue, I still believe it's one of the best in the north for having the best view from many places in the rink. It's size does make it one of the coldest though, so wrap up warm!
  • I come here every week during the public sessions and there are no problems, except for the fact that the surface of the rink itself is not leveled off properly and seems to be slightly higher around the center. Otherwise, everything else is satisfactory. The prices are relatively good and the staff are very friendly.
  • Good place to come with family and friends. The hot chocolate in the cafe is nice. There are lockers available which cost £1 for 3 hours and be aware that is you pay by card in the cafe or for your skate session you will be charged £1 extra.
  • Large rink with good facilities. Open 7 days a week.
