  • An absolutely brilliant venue for a family trip out except for the cafe/restaurant ☹️. We opted to have our lunch from the on site cafe. It was only 12.15 pm but there was only 1 jacket potato left. M...  more »

  • Pyramids, woodland trails, a Chinese garden, hidden stone towers. This garden is absolutely fantastic and has been developed and restored by the National Trust. It is a great place to visit and should be entertaining enough for kids. There are standard NT refreshments etc available as well as a garden centre. Parking is outside of the paid area and there are picnic benches there too, in case you want to be nearby but are too tight to go in.
  • This place is amazing! The gardens are beautiful and the kids loved exploring it's delights from the koi carp pool to caves to Chinese garden will go again. It's national trust so if not a member entry fee is required.
  • Fantastic "garden rooms " from around the world. Absolutely wonderful in the autumn with Japanese acres. Stumpery is unique. Also good if m6 is blocked as on alternative route. Good little NT cafe . Visit at least once a year.
  • Lovely and eclectic garden based on themes from individual countries or regions of the world. Tunnels, grottoes, and even a pyramid to walk through. If you are into geology, or rather the history of the science of geology, then the Geology Gallery is an interesting Victorian attempt to reconcile geological evidence with religious belief; not many of the original fossil and mineral specimens left but gives you an insight into Victorian natural history.
  • Historic, lovely well kept open gardens beautifully kept and ongoing. Lots of little nooks and crannys, great for kids ,a joy of a garden with a surprise japanese garden and pond. So much to look at walking around ,great value and cafe and seating outside accomodates many visitors and lovely staff providing food!very generous with 'yummy' cake portions. A great day out, highly recommended😊
