Lovely venue, gardens excellent, lovely grounds and river - so much to see and do inside and out. Plenty of picnic space as well as a very good cafe. Space to run and play when not feeding the ducks a...  more »

Excellent place to visit. Lots of space for families to play, picturesque gardens to wander around, nice cafe in the visitor centre. Had planned to go in the house but in the end didn't bother. Garden...  more »

Very much like Hall Place with kids. We also come to do the Trails throughout the year. There are also little things to do like bird watching, looking at the green house, mini gardens etc. You can buy...  more »

  • Great grounds, excellent topiary. Wonderful house with various exhibitions. It used to be free entry to the house but in recent years rather pricy entrance fee means locals can't justify casual visits to soak up the atmosphere. Nevertheless worth a look if visiting for the first time. Must cost a lot in upkeep. Exhibitions can be very interesting.
  • Hall place has historic buildings accompanied with well maintained gardens. The parking is free. There is a cafe, with indoor & outdoor seating. The outdoor seating neighbours the river shuttle. Near to the café are toilet facilities. The site is wheelchair friendly. Around the site is a vast green open space. During school holidays there are football activities (this is a paid activity). On site there is another paid activity where you can visit the owls. This is supervised. You can hold and touch if you wish. This is a great experience!
  • Sometimes the best things in life are free! A good example is Hall Place Gardens. A really nice place (pun intended) and especially so when the weather is nice. Sometimes there is a small farmer's market. When we went there we had got some stuff from the farmer's market and had a spontaneous picnic! You'll have to check the dates for the farmers market to see when they are there. The gardens are really lovely and very interesting. They are small but perfectly formed with lots of variety. So nice wandering around in the sunshine and eating an ice cream. Personally I think the actual house is overpriced. There is nothing there. The house is all but empty and there is very little information. It's very small and will take you next to no time to get around it. I would really skip the house and just enjoy the gardens. Speaking of the gardens, there is a butterfly house and also some owls to see! Both are pretty cool!! They both have a small charge associated but in my opinion they are worth it. You can get to old and make a fuss of some of the owls they have there. It's a fun extra should you decide to do these things. All in all it's a lovely place to be and especially if you are local.
  • Lovely walks around hall place with the kids and little spot to eat at the cafe . They also have a picnic area and if you look on the website it will show you events they have on throughout the year. They have owls you can pay to see at a price . Just outside they also have a pub/restaurant which looks nice .
  • Beautiful place. Lots of green space for children to run around in and there are greenhouses open to the public. It is free to enter the grounds, the entrance fees are only on entering Hall Place house or to see the owls. There is a café serving refreshments. Free parking is a bonus too.
