I took my daughters last week and we had Mick as our guide, and I can honestly say we had a great time, Mick was a friendly guy and helped us all the way through, the only small gripe I would have is ...  more »

I would highly recommend this activity, 5 hours of walk in the mountains between forests and stunning scenery, descent into an old mine where up and down with the rope, walk underground ponds with zip-line and raft, climb waterfalls, all guided safely by competent guides and responsive to the diverse needs and capacities of the individual.

On the day we were due to go up Snowden it was pouring down so I was desperate for something else to keep my 12 year old occupied so I phoned Go Below in the hope they could oblige. They couldn't have...  more »

  • Booked for my daughters surprise hen party. Between us we had some serious phobias and fears!!! BUT..... Absolutely the best day with excellent guides who made it both interesting and fun plus lots of laughter (both from us and at us!) A totally fun packed fearful adrenaline pumping and exhilarating day. Thank you I can't recommend this highly enough :) PS thanks for the free shower at the end haha
  • Amazing service and trip. Really friendly and knowledgeable guides who made it a great tour for everyone involved and contributed to maintaining the heritage of the mining site.
  • Have been trying to get here for ever glad i finally made it only three of us on the challenge trip today so got round quite quickly luckily charlie our guide took us round some challenges twice great trip if you dont mind getting abit wet 600m tunnel upto a foot deep in running water waterfall climb absail zip line underground gorge walk incline/decline and plenty of mining history to boot great day our for younger thrill seekers if you have an ounce of guts go for the hero/extreme trip thats where am off to next 10/10
  • Really enjoyable experience, excellent knowledgable guides, highly recommended. No frills action in a disused slate mine, suitable for my 11 year old who enjoyed every minute. Take your own wellies, waterproof coat and trousers recommended.
  • Absolutely brilliant! I went for the half day experience which was still five hours long with Mick and Darren as our guides; both were awesome. It's a hike up to the mine entrance but beautiful views all around. You get a bit of a walk and history of the place once you enter the mine. We then got into a boat and paddled over a flooded cavern section which was amazing. Did some climbing, abseiling, ziplining, picnick, going up a waterfall and finally scaling up an 80 foot airvent to the top of the mine. Before hiking back back down 'the small Welsh hill'. Definitely worth every penny.
