When looking online for the swimming timetable, was surprised to read complaints about the place on Trip Advisor. Now, having been a member for 3 months, I'm not surprised. It seems so easy to offend/... read more »
Visited with my 4 kids for a swim whilst on holiday at nearby Haggerston Castle and it was so good that we visited again 2 days later. The pool itself seems quite small and as such was not really suit... read more »
Used the facilities....pool, gym and spin classes for a fortnight while on holiday. Staff great. Good value with a £15 a week pass giving you full unlimited access.
Good facilities and staff. Has a swimming pool, football pitch, indoor sports hall, bowls, squash court, gym, as well as a water slide!
Great facilities, always something to do for the kids. Great value for money.
Missed not having a cafe to watch the children swim. Seemed tired and lack lustre, shame as the facilities looked great!
Ideal mixture of activities for kids. Not too far from the old centre of Berwick. Pool possibly a tiny bit warm but it's meant for all sorts and not just serious lane swimmers. Nice water slide. Just the one though. Has waves and safe areas for very small kids/non-swimmers.
We went swimming here in August, and we were disappointed that the slide (or flume) was only open for 10 minute intervals every half hour or so. The wave machine also only operated once every half hour. They have a good-sized infant pool, and some fountains to play in operating sporadically. The changing rooms are unisex with lots of cubicles, so that families can get changed together. The lockers at my home town swimming pool require a 20p deposit which is returned to you when you unlock your locker. The ones here keep your 20p! They also operate in timed sessions, each session determined by a coloured rubber band to wear on your wrist. Check when you go in because depending on your arrival time you might only get 50 minutes for your money, whereas if you wait a short while, you can get the full 1hour 20 mins. What really dampened my trip is that whilst we were getting dressed, I had three pairs of goggles stolen, so once you've unlocked your locker make sure everything goes into the cubicle with you.
