Must see · Wildlife Area · Nature / Park
Puck's Glen is a river-formed ravine on the Cowal peninsula in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, with a popular scenic walking trail beside the Eas Mòr stream (Gaelic for "big waterfall"). It comes under the Forestry Commission which highlights it as a feature of the Argyll Forest Park (itself within the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park), and describes it as "One of the most magical forests in Scotland, with a delightful trail along a rocky gorge."
The stream tumbles down a series of waterfalls and rapids, joining the River Eachaig about 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) south of the entrance to the Benmore Botanic Garden. A car park off the A815 road (about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) from Dunoon on the road to Loch Eck) gives access by a track to the foot of the glen path, as well as forest paths giving an alternative route to the top of the glen.

  • Having read all the reviews we were super keen to visit. Sadly it was closed but next time! The website was very up to date so we didn’t have a wasted journey.  more »

  • Beautiful woodland with lots of waterfalls and gullies. Perfect for dog walking although remember to use tick repellent as the whole glen is full of the dreaded creature's. My dog got a horrible tick....  more »

  • Well designed and maintained with walks suitable for everyone. Redwoods and ferns were beautiful. Well laid out gardens and good Cafe. Clear instructions with map provided.
  • Easy walk through a beautiful mossy pine forest, following a path along a stream with crystal clear water. The walk will take about an hour if you're of average fitness, but plan for longer because you will need time to keep stopping to admire the beautiful scenery and photograph it, if that's your thing!
  • It's a magical place, it winds it's way up with waterfalls and pools along the way. It has very high sides which make sound carry and some huge ferns. The steps can be slippy so beware but there are handrails to help you along. Also if you feel like you can't go ant further there is a stair of to the right about 3/4 way up which is a short cut back to the carpark. Well worth the visit.
  • An absolutely stunningly magical trail that takes you along a victorian walkway all the way up a rocky gorge. Passing several waterfalls and crossing bridges along the way, it's almost too magical to be real. Highly recommended. Waterproof shoes are a must!
  • Puck's Glen. Words cannot do it justice. It is special, if you can manage the walk up you will be rewarded with a magical experience.
