  • Despite the name this station is not actually in the city centre but as the city is compact this is not really a problem. When you arrive don't get upset there is a free bus service to the city centre [if you have a valid rail ticket]. To the best of my knowledge you can also travel between Central and Great Victoria Street at no additional cost. The station itself is very basic and unattractive. My experience is that the shop or cafe do not accept Euro which is a bit annoying. As well as not accepting Euro the prices are way to high so avoid buying within the station.
  • The Central Station has been improved over the years and now has a lovely coffee bar, fresh baked goods and excellent amenities. If you arrive early for your train or are waiting for someone, you will be happily comfortable.
  • This station is in need of a MAJOR revamp! For one of, if not thee main station for Belfast, 4 platforms are not enough. Furthermore if more than 1 train comes in at a time the staff inspecting tickets cause a queue due to the old technology, being no ticketing barriers that commuters can easily swipe in and out like London, Dublin etc. For Belfast becoming such a popular tourist destination it's public transport in particular Its train stations are letting it down massively. They need to update and expand!
  • Boring place. Upper Crust Cafe is extortionate and the staff can't make coffee without scalding it (and your mouth), the small shop is a rip-off, £2 for a mars bar, £2.50 for a can of coke etc. Translink staff look more like gestapo and give you a look of 'you're next for the chemical sheds' any time you produce your discount card. I understand they all hate their jobs but if i'm paying £17.50 for a 60mile journey, I expect my muggers to atleast be smiling while they rob me.
  • A wretched place...unfriendly staff....ugly surroundings...no relevant information on delayed departures....ugh.
