Belfast Castle, Belfast
(3.8/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
History and fine dining come together at Belfast Castle, which holds a prominent position 120 m (400 ft) above sea level and provides panoramic views of the city of Belfast and Belfast Lough. Dating back to 1870, the castle was designed in the Scottish baronial style by architect Charles Lanyon. One of the area’s most popular wedding reception venues, the castle includes a well-stocked antiques shop and an informative visitor center. The castle’s restaurant serves meals for all tastes, from light snacks to gourmet evening meals, prepared using only the freshest and finest local produce. When you visit the castle, don’t miss a chance to photograph the iconic Napoleon’s Nose, a basalt outcrop believed to have inspired Jonathan Swift’s novel "Gulliver's Travels." • I loved Belfast castle. It was after our cave hill walk, and what a way to end it. So historic and absolutely beautiful. Good place to come and enjoy the outside air and sun, it's really quiet and lovely.
  • Very nice place to visit and dine, Great views over Belfast Lough. Set in large gardens with great walk to the cavehill.
  • Very beatiful The gounds. Great if you want to go for a walk ranging from 1.5km to like 7-10 km in the Forrest and Hills.
  • Gorgeous interior and gardens. Worth a look at the views over Belfast as well
  • Lovely place for walking. But ridiculous unfriendly staff in the restaurant. The drinks and plates with food gets on the table for here you're food. Not nice att all. But the views are very good and nice :). Only the restaurant needs new staff..
