Create an itinerary including Belfast Castle
History and fine dining come together at Belfast Castle, which holds a prominent position 120 m (400 ft) above sea level and provides panoramic views of the city of Belfast and Belfast Lough. Dating back to 1870, the castle was designed in the Scottish baronial style by architect Charles Lanyon. One of the area’s most popular wedding reception venues, the castle includes a well-stocked antiques shop and an informative visitor center. The castle’s restaurant serves meals for all tastes, from light snacks to gourmet evening meals, prepared using only the freshest and finest local produce. When you visit the castle, don’t miss a chance to photograph the iconic Napoleon’s Nose, a basalt outcrop believed to have inspired Jonathan Swift’s novel "Gulliver's Travels." • Unrivalled views on a good day, beautiful place, gardens and buildings all very nice, value for money as free entry to the grounds! Find the cats if you can too!

  • This is certainly in my top five places to visit in Belfast. The castle itself is beautiful to look at, but it also hosts beautiful gardens and there are lots of loop walks to be taken around its surroundings. You can either take small loops around the adjacent gardens or take a full hike up the mountain behind. There are a number of carparks that we noted, one either side of the castle, but both were reasonably busy on the two occasions we visited so I would recommend visiting reasonably early to find parking easily. Reasonable fitness is needed fir the longer walks, but the immediate gardens are easy to walk however there are a number of steps that must be navigated.
  • No tickets or car parking charges at all. Well maintained and very spacious car parks. One hell of a visit and enjoyed the visit too. There are so many activities available for kids and cafe available too. Walking around the park with dogs welcome too. Dogs must be on leash Usual history and stuffs bug very much glad that we had a chance to visit and see the inside of the living and bedroom areas. Toilets available inside and free carparks . Around 4-5 car parks available near the castle. Try to park very next to castle if not available then gradually check the nearest ones.
  • Belfast castle has breathtaking views. You’re able to walk inside and open many doors to spacious rooms. Come earlier in the day and take advantage of the cave path which will have you walk up a high point of a mountain and allow you to view the city.
  • very beautiful castle that you must visit. The castle also has a small garden, can you find all nine cats? The surrounding park is also worth seeing. If you have enough time then hike up to Cave Hill, there you will find an overwhelming view of belfast. Enjoy!
  • Beautiful castle and garden. You can get amazing views of city and doc. Plenty of parking. Adventure sports garden near by for kids. You can climb cavehill trails and enjoy amazing views of Belfast city, take great pictures.
