History and fine dining come together at Belfast Castle, which holds a prominent position 120 m (400 ft) above sea level and provides panoramic views of the city of Belfast and Belfast Lough. Dating back to 1870, the castle was designed in the Scottish baronial style by architect Charles Lanyon. One of the area’s most popular wedding reception venues, the castle includes a well-stocked antiques shop and an informative visitor center. The castle’s restaurant serves meals for all tastes, from light snacks to gourmet evening meals, prepared using only the freshest and finest local produce. When you visit the castle, don’t miss a chance to photograph the iconic Napoleon’s Nose, a basalt outcrop believed to have inspired Jonathan Swift’s novel "Gulliver's Travels." • Lovely walks steep up to the caves but worth the view over Belfast. Kids adventure playground is good but costs to get in. The "castle" is nice to visit plenty to see. While away a Sunday afternoon no problem.
  • A great place to visit for a meal, a drink or just a peaceful walk. A beautiful building with well maintained gardens and great views over Belfast Lough
  • Interesting building, not exactly what I'd call a castle though. Amazing views of Belfast.
  • Stunning views of Belfast from the beautiful gardens. Great spot for a wedding dinner / evening.
  • Nice place for an event with good views of belfast
