Sally Lunn's Historic Eating House & Museum stands as both Bath's oldest house and one of its most renowned dining establishments. Sally Lunn made her world-famous Bath buns here starting in the late 17th century, but the house itself predates her arrival in town by over 500 years. Sample the world-famous round sweet roll with a wide selection of sweet or savory toppings before heading into the actual kitchen where the baker performed her magic centuries ago. • The buns were quite delicious, as were the preserves. It was the woman who sold us our take away that really won me over. She was terribly nice and gave us good advice to not buy something as it would...  more »

  • Had no idea buns were a thing in Bath, so didn't know what to expect. After having quick lunch (soup + savoury bun) one day (very filling, highly recommended), we had to come back the next day for afternoon tea as well! Everything was delicious, from the house bun to the house tea.
  • Quaint setting in one of the oldest cafe type places in Bath. Well worth a visit for a Sally Lynn bun. The bun is similar to a Brioche bun and is served with either sweet or savoury topping. If you eat at the café you are able to see the museum underneath the shop.
  • My wife and I dined at Sally Lunn's for an early dinner on Saturday. The experience was rather underwhelming, mainly from a service perspective. We were seated quickly and were given enough time to take a look at the menu. I opted for the £8.48 Welsh Rarebit Special, because, who doesn't like a bit of cheese on toast?! I didn't want the mushrooms, so politely asked that they were not included. Plus, I prefer a 'top' bun half to a 'bottom' bun half, so made the request. No problem with either, I was assured. What came to the table? You guessed it. A bottom with loads of mushrooms. I may as well have made the pre-meal request with the chimney I was sat next to. The meal was good, but neither of us were blown away. We decided not to try the sweet bun, so asked for the bill. While waiting an eternity for a bill that never came, my frustration with the whole experience reached a crescendo. I had to ask for the bill a second time and couldn't leave this charming little house quickly enough. I wish that the experience was better, but it wasn't. Must do better guys.
  • Amazing place. Wonderful food. All very fresh ingredients and such friendly staff. Really enjoyed the time spent in here. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
  • We went for Sally cream tea and cinnamon butter bun. The cinnamon one was so great, but I couldn't told the difference with another bun without clotted cream. This place is worth a visit but a little pricy. The reason of losing a star is that the price shown on the actual menu is higher than that on the official website.
