  • This is a must do in Bath. The oldest building and an institution. The bun is so big we shared one and it was perfect. Nice place to rest and relax from the sight seeing.
  • Sally Lunn's museum in Bath is a nice little reminder of a bygone era. It is one of the oldest houses in Bath. The kitchen museum shows the place where Sally Lunn made the first Bath bun. This is a se...  more »
  • Tiny museum dedicated to the history of the Sally Lunn bun. Fascinating facts and obviously curated by people who love what they do. Great that you can buy the buns and butter to recreate the joy that...  more »

  • I came to this place to have a trencher lunch and I am pleased. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant or "coffee room". I did not need to queue at 11am weekday. I have eaten in other equally priced restaurants in London which are noisy for the strong music and I hate it. This one is serene and cozy. The price is little steep or touristy but I am happy with what I was served. The trencher set has half of the buttered bun and pumpkin soup for the starter and then the main course of course has another half of the bun soaked in the delicious steak and mushroom gravy. The apple cake pudding is warm and not overly sweetened. I had a little confusion with the waiter about including the pudding in my meal but it was no big deal. If you want to enjoy the complete 3-course trencher lunch, state clear that you want both "soup and cake". As other reviewer has stated the pot of tea can pour 3 cups and comes with a cute strainer. Another positive point is that the prices in the menu are true and the final bill does not charge additional 10%/12.5% service fee, but I am not sure if this is the case for dinner time too.
  • My daughter found the Sally Lunn blended loose leaf tea enchanting. The cream tea star was the biggest, lightest, fluffiest, melt in the mouth brioche bun we had ever seen with plenty of jam and cream and the china teapots hold enough for about 3 cups so it is reasonable value for money especially as the history of the building enhances the meal. Our server was efficient, kind and obviously proud of the leaf tea. Everyone else was eating savoury meals so when our cream tea buns arrived we were wowed. We had such a fun time with lots of giggles. We'll definitely come back to sample the savoury menu
  • I loved it. Went for dinner and had a great experience. The waiters are nice and food is really good. If I'm ever in Bath again, I'm certainly going there. Best meal in a long time.
  • Fantastically traditional and homely! The MUST when visiting Bath! Don't be alarmed by the long queue! When you bite into the soft, fluffy cloud that is the Sally Lunns Bun you will be glad you waited! Go for the Cinnamon Butter bun! Best one in the joint!
  • This was a tip from our guide book and it was brilliant. The surroundings are nice and rustic and the food very nice. We were lucky but often there seems to be a really big queue, although they do everything to get people seated really quickly.
