4.6/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web
How often do you get to visit a garden designed by a poet? Prior Park Landscape Gardens (NT) offers that experience set in a valley of no small natural beauty with views of the city of Bath. Literally the prototype of the "English garden," it has influenced the design of other such gardens throughout Europe. Only a handful of Palladian bridges remain in the world, and you’ll find one of them here--you can even walk across it. Relax in the verdant grass surrounding a manmade lake, complete with a tea shed. Stroll the nearly 10 km (6.25 mi) skyline to gaze at the natural beauty and check out Iron Age and Roman-era constructions. Finish off your visit with a picnic at the park; you can snag a rug at the boat shop if you forgot your blanket. • The Park is a little bit difficult to reach without a car, but literally. Instead of the flag is worth buying the National Trust annual membership if you intend to visit more of their intended targets. The restoration of the Park was still in progress, but it was still great. The best pieces were on the Lake, a bridge and a small little coffee shop/Café.
