Garden
How often do you get to visit a garden designed by a poet? Prior Park Landscape Gardens (NT) offers that experience set in a valley of no small natural beauty with views of the city of Bath. Literally the prototype of the "English garden," it has influenced the design of other such gardens throughout Europe. Only a handful of Palladian bridges remain in the world, and you’ll find one of them here--you can even walk across it. Relax in the verdant grass surrounding a manmade lake, complete with a tea shed. Stroll the nearly 10 km (6.25 mi) skyline to gaze at the natural beauty and check out Iron Age and Roman-era constructions. Finish off your visit with a picnic at the park; you can snag a rug at the boat shop if you forgot your blanket. • Awesome place!! I proposed to my wife here and they were extremely helpful in letting me in early and setting up. The gardens are beautiful. Can't wait to come back!
  • For the beautiful views looking over Bath you will have to take a bit of a hike unless you drive up to the top entrance and never make your way down the hill to the bridge and lake. At £7.20 for an adult ticket it is really not that good. The view can't be beat, but 7.20....really....for a small park with an old bridge and not much else going on. I guess they have to keep the place looking nice somehow.
  • One of my most favourite national trust places. Well worth visiting, plenty to see and a good excessise for legs. There is tea shed at the bottom of the hill to get you for climb back. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
  • Top National Trust property, nice walks and 'that bridge' :-)
  • Great place to visit, shame National Trust rip you off to get in :(
