Gift & Specialty Shop
Quaint and charming, Mr B's Emporium Of Reading Delights has something for everyone. This little independent bookshop is as educational as is it quirky. Grab a book from an old-fashioned bathtub, and curl up in an easy chair in front of a cozy fireplace. You'll find a variety of books to choose from, all seemingly hand picked for their originality. The store also offers the unique chance to sit down with a librarian one-on-one, munch on tea and cookies, and discuss your reading interests. After the discussion, the librarian will then provide a long list of book suggestions that meet your interests. The shop is known for its high level of service, due in part to its knowledgeable staff. • This book store is an absolute delight just as it says in its name. It is unusual in such a good way. No lists of the most popular authors or 3 for 2 etc. One can go to any supermarket for that. This ...  more »

  • For a very special birthday I received a 'Book Spa' voucher from a very dear friend. Almost a year passes before I realise I need to book my 'spa' and order my choice of refreshment and cake. Arriving with very mixed feelings, I was very warmly welcomed and directed to a very cosy chair upstairs. The very knowledgeable Ed was soon to be put me at my ease and we were soon discussing themes and authors that had engaged or challenged my thinking. Ed could not have been more supportive or encouraging. I came away with a list of books/authors that I may never have found and acquired 5 books as part of the 'spa' offer. A huge 'thank you' to Ed and to the other staff who were so warm and helpful too. I have recommended you to friends who I know will be visiting you in the future.
  • I had never heard of book spa until arriving in Bath. My partner bought my spa for our 19th anniversary. I spent a lovely 50 minutes with one of the staff talking about my reading. As i enjoyed tea and a cake she went off and returning with a list of books that would interest me. It was a wonderful experience and i really suggest anyone travelling to Bath to book an experience. My partner said I had a silly smile on my face for days afterward.
  • Amazing bookshop with a wide selection of titles! The best part of the shop is the huge amount of effort that the staff have put in into reading and recommending their favorite books. The passion for reading is palpable , and the atmosphere is cosy and quaint. Worthy of the title of best independent bookstore !
  • We had read that this is one of the best bookstores in the world, and that is accurate. A wonderful store, staffed by terrific people. We could have spent all day in there.
  • Staff were excellent, book recommendations everywhere, lovely vibe
