The Lake District Wildlife Park, Bassenthwaite

(4.1/5 based on 480 reviews on the web)
Located in one of England's most outstanding areas of natural beauty, The Lake District Wildlife Park shelters several hundred animals. Spread across approximately 10 hectares (25 acres), the grounds' natural enclosures allow visitors to observe both domestic and exotic species, including gibbons, zebras, deer, birds of prey, and a variety of reptiles. The park regular hosts falconry shows and lectures about rare breeds of domestic animals. Families with small children can take advantage of tractor rides, an adventure playground, and animal feedings, which occur at regular intervals throughout the day. In addition to picnic and rest areas, the park also contains a small restaurant and gift shop.
