Great venue, was there for a wedding, staff were friendly, drinks weren't overpriced, food good quality and overall a good spot. It's quite s small place so large numbers will really struggle. Also, it could do with a little bit of tlc re:decor
Fonmon is one of the few medieval castles which is still lived in as a home. It was built by the St. John family in the early 13th century and has changed hands only once. ... In 1656, during the English Civil War Fonmon was sold to Colonel Philip Jones, a direct ancestor of Sir Brook Boothby, the present owner. 20 of us had Christmas lunch (2017) superbly prepared by Annabelle H. a very memorable and fun day in a medieval castle.
Beautiful location and lovely staff. We are holding a car show and family fun day here on June 2nd and September 2nd this year, come along.
Fonmon Castle fantastic for wedding venue, surroundings fantastic, staff are brilliant, even keeps the kids occupied playing games with them, Shockingly the beverages are priced very reasonable, not over the top, One thing that they really should consider is changing the catering contractor, It was my sister's wedding and what a disappointment it was, which caused great upset to her and left us feeling some embarrassment, as to the massive amount charged, it was quiet disgraceful to what was served, And if they had a catering team that could give the service which will compliment the surrounding (which needs to be of a much higher standard than what it was) this place could be booming, The catering are letting this place down... But has to be said apart from that couldn't have asked for anything better, had a fantastic time in such a beautiful place, and just the place to make any bride feel a little more special, very beautiful location with out a doubt. Thank you Fonmon Castle and my sister really was a princess for the day.x And just to say was very very happy to see the welsh flag flying perfect.x
Lovely place to visit...wonderful afternoon tea
