  • Excellent historical look a round the old ruins but expensive entry fee for family. A good enjoyable day out  more »

  • Excellent day out. The ruins are impressive and, despite being sandwiched between the railway and road, the setting is calm and peaceful. Really helpful, enthusiastic staff at the museum, which has a range of interesting exhibits. Well worth a detour.
  • Amazing place and so much to see. It's a bit tricky to find but follow the signs and yes it is through the arch and down the steep hill. The main entrance is through what looks like a local library. This isn't sign posted but don't worry, you can turn round at the cafe car park.
  • This place is really interesting. There's no information around the site though so I would recommend buying a guide book.
  • Furness Abbey is a vast site with historical interest and great for exploring. The area is brilliant for walks and there's a handy cafe close by.
  • The ruins of Furness Abbey are very impressive and of great historic significance to the local and wider area, there is a large visitors centre with good facilities, well worth a visit
