  • Very beautiful scenery and some nice walks located around the castle and through the woods to keep the dog entertained. Shame that the visitor information signs were too warn in places to read them.

  • Great for the kids - once we found it! There are no signs pointing the way, but the search was worth it. A lovely and tranquil place.
  • Walked round castle walls as only had 2 hours free parking in the street .also nice walk by the river. Walk down the hill, past castle to the riverside walk
  • One of the best castles in England. Great to wander around
  • With the English Heritage sites it is always fun to follow the guide books and try to imagine what the buildings used to be like. But I have to admit it is really difficult to discern the boar carving that is supposedly connected to Richard III in the roof of the oriel window.
  • Beautiful castle ruin with lots to explore, great for kids, plenty of picnic space, the lady at reception was very kind giving us plenty of history of the castle, would highly recommend a visit.
