  • Majority of castle is no longer there, with some walls marking the areas of where structures been before, 2 towers are accessible providing the view on the river bank and city. It will take you about 40 min to see and read all info displayed in various sections of the castle.
  • Very well preserved mediaeval castle which is ran by the National trust. The payment kiosk is to the left as you enter the castle and there is a lovely little walk around the perimeter of the castle. Head to the back of the castle next to the bridge and sit on the seat to take in the view of the river Tees.
