This family feel farm really gives you an idea of what its like to live on a farm, seeing the farmers work. We went during lambing season and got to see newborn lambs being fed, we also got to watch t... read more »
It is a working farm and it is basic. Less crowded compared to Puxton Park. Puxton park offers more value for money if you are after an all-in-one experience.
We visited this weekend despite the rain and mud, (making sure we had wellies), and had a lovely time. From entry to leaving we were almost on our own in the place and had the run of everything. Both the owner and his son spent time with us and spoke to my children explaining a lot about how the farm worked and how the animals were looked after. We got up close and personal with lots of animals including feeding a day old lamb and possibly the most friendly goats I've even met. I had a really interesting chat with the owner about the way farming had changed and how farming was in decline. I thought I was fairly clued up but it really opened my eyes. This is a farm, it's not a sanitary experience and its mostly open to the elements. If you want a perfectly clean experience visit a soft play. As for comparing Court Farm to nearby Puxton or Noahs ark it's pointless to do this. One is a zoo and the other is so far removed from a "farm" experience it seems wrong to call it a "farm park".
Had 2 and 4 year old with me and we all had a great day out. Take a ball with you as lovely picnic area to eat and play in. They enjoyed the maize maze and feeding the lambs and goats. Great for younger children.
This is a working farm so it provides a huge wealth of experience, learning and adventure for children and their parents. Aside from the animals and play equipment, what is really the cherry on the top of this experience is the amount of attention and time devoted to the visitors by the family farming team, who describe farming life to the children with great enthusiasm and commitment. I can't think of anywhere else this would happen, unless you happen to have farming friends or family.
A great place to visit. Very friendly staff and lots to do. None of the usual rubbish you get "You can't eat your food in here! You didn't get it from.us." This place welcomes you to eat your own packed lunch in there cafe with out any fuss. Pony rides only £1 (Aug 2014), free tractor 🚜 rides, lots of play areas and lots more!
