Mayfield Lavender Farm Reviews
My friend and I visit the farm in August - most of the farm was in full bloom and the sweet smell of lavender permeated throughout the entire field and beyond! It is absolutely gorgeous! The entry fee... more »
If you’re staying in London for more than a week in the summer (late June-July), this place is worth a quick visit! It was a 30 min train / 10 min uber ride away from London for me but the lavender fi... more »
I thought it was beautiful and even the children loved it as they loved running around playing whilst adults were chatting. You would think kids would get bored but if they do there is a park across t... more »
Beautiful lavender fields with lovely staff. If you want very picturesque scenery go during the lavender season. We visited in September and there wasn't as much lavender as we had seen in the pictures but nonetheless a great outdoor experience. There is also a small entry fee for those visiting by car.
My girlfriend dragged me here without telling me where we were going. It was an unexpected journey from North West London to this remote corner at the border with the Surrey. This place is amazing and worth a visit. The entrance is almost free (1£) and the view is wonderful. The perfume of lavender fills the air and we spent a very nice day here. There are also stands where you can eat a decent burger and ice cream at affordable prices and a shop where you can find a wide range of items related to lavender. Good for a romantic day with the partner, for families or for an unusual day out with friends. I suggest to visit the website where you can find further information about the position and other stuff. Not the easiest place to reach with public transport...but we made it.
Absolutely stunning! Although beware of bees and wasps. They're mostly harmless unless feeling threatened. I got stung by a small bee and felt uncomfortable itch. Luckily the ladies who work there gave me lavender oil to sooth it. Worked like a charm! Please try the Lavender scones!!! I recommend asking a tiny favour from the staff to heat the scones up as they taste better warm - really brings out that lavender aroma and flavor.
This lavender farm is quite a magical place: paradise for nature lovers, lavender admirers and... photographers. You can easily spend half a day there (at least) by walking in the field, take great pictures, have some food and browse around the shop which offers various products made out of the flowers and the oils of the lavender like cakes, soaps and lotions. I would say best time to visit is July and August due to the full bloom. Even though I mentioned escaping from London, the farm is technically still in the city. It's in zone 6 and roughly 1 hour away from the center. For more information on the travelling to this place and a better understanding of what to expect, check out the video we made about Mayfield. Just search for "Curious Pavel" on YouTube and combine it with "Mayfield" or "lavender". If you prefer reading and not watching, there's an article on the website. Thanks for reading Pavel
Loved, Loved, Loved this place. Its so nice, I can't believe it's in London. Easy to get to, but parking is a bit of nightmare as it's really busy on weekends. Love the concept of place. The cafe is cute, queues were long. We went to the trailer in the field, the cake was nice. Only thing is bring cash as the trailer in the field only takes cash. Would definitely reccomend visiting, just for the view alone. Also, great place for taking pics.
