  • Very interesting and historical castle. Our kids loved the tour (age 5 and 10) as the tour guide really got them involved. The playpark is new and very eco. Could have spent a lot longer there!!  more »
  • In the old building in one of the castle the Castle route built in 1323, but as good as renewed by the national trust. Admission is £ 12.50... less room can be visited. Tourists had a picnic on the grounds. There are little old church yard. Well maintained garden is a rose garden located just down the road,

  • This is an interesting castle and worth a visit. However, unlike a number of other local castles you have to follow an official guide. At present these are hourly and if like us, you miss one by five ...  more »
  • We came when the castle was closed (just after new years), but still had a walk around. It's not the most grand of places - I am not sure why it is called a castle or what classifies a castle, but if you expect one of those places from tales - it won't be. It is a larger house and has beautiful gardens. I assume it would be a good place if you have kids as there is a playground as well.
  • Best place close by me. Ancient castle currently housing Aberdeen Art Gallery's temporary exhibition; beautiful woodland walks; and a great play park for the kids. And there's the amazing rose garden too. Oh and the water garden. Oh and all those other walks in the estate ... Oh and the garden centre close by that does great good value food... and so on.
  • Very nice well preserved Scottish Castle. The tower is still in a very original feeling state and you can even climb to the roof!
  • Great children's play area with lots of things to do. Also good for a walk round the estate.
  • Great forest walks and a very good play park for the kids. You do have a small parking charge if you are a not a National Trust member but worth the fee.
