Ladybower Reservoir, Bamford

(4.6/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
Ladybower Reservoir is a large Y-shaped reservoir and one of the most popular tourist attractions in the area. It is also one of the largest bell-mouth spillways in the world. While the spillway offers a curious site, the surrounding scene is packed with natural beauty and serenity as well. This is a great place to spend your day walking, jogging, and biking around the trails. When you arrive, you can find more information at the Fairholmes visitors' center on the northern tip of Ladybower. • I would say that the Peak district rivals the lake district in terms of views and landscape, it is also quieter, the down side is that it does not have the facilities of the lakes or even North Wales....  more »
  • Not being from around the area, took ages to find a spot to park the car. Lovely views , super walk. Highly recommended.  more »
  • We love walking along the Ladybower reservoir, particularly when the water is high and water is rushing down the enormous 'plug holes' into the overflow! We also go up to Winn Hill from here too, and ...  more »

  • Nice place to cycle around the reservoirs with a choice of routes to suit most levels of cyclist. Excellent place to get away from ring tones and message bleeps with no mobile coverage from any network around most of route. Free parking is available if you park a little further out from fair holmes car park. Good tuck shop, bike wash, and visitor shop etc .
  • Nice peaceful English countryside. Great for cycling and hiking. The views are amazing.
  • Great day out, with great views
  • A wonderfull pleasent and quite place to observe nature closely. Had a wonderfull time there. Most suitable place for camping. You can park your car in a safe place as well.
  • Beautiful place to hang out, for a day out,or just for a short walk around
