  • We had a fabulous impromptu afternoon painting plates with our three year old. It was personal, relaxed and friendly with Carol, who went the extra mile to get the plate ready for our trip back south. Thank you Carol - it was lovely meeting you. Best afternoon and great value. Nancy, Victoria and Louis.
  • Fantastic little place to take the kids, or just have some adult creative time. Went with friends and had a brilliant 3hrs! Do book however as this is a very popular spot.
  • I went for an afternoon out with my niece and nephew to baked well pottery painting and we had a great time. The staff were really friendly and helped the kids to pick out a piece to paint and showed them all the different colours they could use. The kids are aged 6 and 3 and manged most of the painting by themselves. I enjoyed the painting too. I hadn't picked up a paint brush since school and I forgot how much fun it is just to be creative with a blank canvas. I have to say my design was shown up by my 6 year old niece! The shop is in a very pretty courtyard and has a very welcoming feel. I thoroughly recommend this shop for a fun activity (with or without kids!)
  • Fantastic time, our 4 year old really enjoyed it!
  • Really nice little shop. I had a lovely relaxed afternoon with my fiance painting plates and mugs. The staff are dead friendly and approachable. An ideal activity for all ages!

Where to stay in Bakewell

Consider a stay in one of the Georgian-style cottages that populate the town center. Shops and restaurants are readily accessible to centrally located B&Bs and inns. A country inn closer to the outskirts of the city provides peace and quiet, as well as a midway point between the town and the main attractions in the countryside, such as the restored halls and manors.
