Heads of Ayr Farm Park, Ayr

(4.5/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
Take on the assault course, giant sand pit, trampolines, even four-wheel motorbiking at Heads of Ayr Farm Park. The park offers four-wheel motorbikes for people of all ages: small tandems for adults with young children; child-sized bikes for those between 7-11; and adult-sized bikes for people over 12 years old. As the kids play in the adventure barn, relax with a coffee and a snack while keeping an eye on them. Visit the animal barn with almost 50 different types of animals including monkeys, lemurs, and meerkats. Although not exclusively for families, be aware that mainly families--and therefore children--visit the park. • Great value for money. Loads to see and do. Other than the animals which you can feed (50p for feed), there's adult and childrens quad bikes, bounce pads (they weren't open today due to wet weather), outdoor trampolines, pirate ship play area, Camelot's castle play area, a huge sandpit with lots of sit on manual JCB diggers and slides, zip lines and a huge indoor soft play area with a cafe, plus much much more. Compared to prices for other theme parks of the same nature, Heads of Ayr is definitely the best I've experienced for value for money. There are places to buy food inside, but as with most theme parks, it will be quite costly if you're buying food for a family. However, there are benches throughout the park for picnicking and if the weather is bad there is an undercover picnic area also, so if you want to save some pennies, take a pack up and plenty of juice and water along with you.
  • Went to the Halloween party last night so looking forward to it last year it was amazing to say I was disappointed is an understatement. Our slot was 5pm never got taken till 520 given i had rushed to get there wasnt a good start. zombies?? don't know what they were thinking??any child I seen was terrified to go in and it was rushed can't fault the acting from the zombie he was great but not age appropriate and my son dosent scare easily. A packet of silly stickers and a couple off sweets on your way round the experience clearly cutting costs. As always it was well decorated. The staff dressed as police officers tried very hard but the attitude from the person dressed as a witch in the cafe was disgusting I didn't know the cafe shut at half 6 given the park was open till 7 maybe they should say when you go in. I walked over to the cafe to see it was shut got to the snack bar for her to say she was shutting to go over to the cafe explained the other place was shut she was serving someone the sandwiches are made up in the fridge but it was to much bother to give me one out the fridge to take with me honestly never had a night like it
  • We went early this year with some friends. A great place to visit, the more open interaction with animals was certainly entertaining. Definitely one for the family.
  • Absolutely fantastic day out with the kids. Get there early and you'll not be stuck for things to do until you leave. And there's much more than animals.
  • Good day out felt it was a little over priced for what it was (more the adult prices than kids). The food was horrendous my bacon was rubber, and the burger was well over done. Advise taking a picnic.
