Heads of Ayr Farm Park, Ayr

4.5
#1 of 43 in Outdoors in Ayrshire
Take on the assault course, giant sand pit, trampolines, even four-wheel motorbiking at Heads of Ayr Farm Park. The park offers four-wheel motorbikes for people of all ages: small tandems for adults with young children; child-sized bikes for those between 7-11; and adult-sized bikes for people over 12 years old. As the kids play in the adventure barn, relax with a coffee and a snack while keeping an eye on them. Visit the animal barn with almost 50 different types of animals including monkeys, lemurs, and meerkats. Although not exclusively for families, be aware that mainly families--and therefore children--visit the park. • Fantastic day out!! Looking forward to going back in the summer! Don't be put off by the name "Farm" yes there are animal but the amenities for the kids are amazing!! We will take a picnic next time but its not overly expensive if your in need of a cuppa! Once you pay to go in the kids can use all the play areas FREE!! There are a few extra rides etc that you have to pay to use but its your choice! Fantastic day out kids were exhausted!!
  • Absolutely fabulous day for all, so much to do it's a definite day out if staying at Haven Craig Tara . Fun for mum's, dad's and kids too. The big red drop slide is a must! Indoor, outdoor, animals, petting zoo, creepy crawlies etc. Say hello to "Buster" the macaw...fun fun fun. Excellent.
  • Took my daughter here for the first time in August. She absolutely loved it!! Nice area to walk about and the animals are well looked after. My daughter was obsessed with the "quacks" (ducks)!! Will be going back for her birthday in April 😀
  • Great day out. Kid loved both the animals and the adventure. Finished up inside at the softplay where he ran wild. We will be back again in the future
  • Great place to take the kids and/or yourself to kill a few hours. Lots of things to keep the children busy, and the adults as well. Took a packed lunch so didn't have any of the food so can't comment on the quality or taste. But the prices looked okay'ish certainly not any dearer than any other zoo/park. There is a free to withdraw ATM on site. So you can withdraw money. We arrived just after opening (10am) and it was slightly busy. Granted the sun was splitting the sky's and was 24° but by 12pm it was jumping, and most of the rides etc where crawling with children. Go for it opening and run round all the rides/games first. So when it gets busy you can walk round the animals have lunch and then go back to the rides etc. No real issues. Park was clean and tidy. Staff where friendly. The only real con would be slightly more staff just wandering about to make sure people are following the rules.
