Where to stay in Aviemore

Aviemore is a resort area inside the Glenmore Forest Park protected area. Most lodging, both hotel chains and major resorts, are concentrated around the town's main road and the River Spey. Consider a B&B or guesthouse slightly deeper in the park from Aviemore. These offer luxury stays among what feels like untouched natural scenery.

  • Great activity for family with teens or school aged kids. Great staff, course starts easier and gradually harder. Felt very safe and was surprised at how unfrightened I was.  more »
  • Treezone is an obstacle course high in the trees of Aviemore. The staff couldn't be more helpful and encouraging. There is a short taster course that you complete first to see if you are comfortable a...  more »

  • Good value and great location. Good fun. Less commercial feel than the other big known brand
  • Amazing experience and amazing staff! A fun time was had by all the family. Being scared of hights I am not really sure why I decided this was a good activity to try out but through the patience and kindness of all the staff I completed and returned for a second round of the beginners course while my more adventurous family opted for the more advanced course. My children (7 and 9) and husband completed the course and thoroughly enjoyed it (they wanted to do it again) and I left feeling I had concoured a personal fear (and not embarrassed my boys!). Thank you Tree Zone. I highly recommend this activity. Worth every penny. The staff were also really helpful in offering suggestions for dinner locally and we really enjoyed the recommendation. Some locall knowledge while away from home makes a big difference. Thank you.
  • This experience was thrilling! Anyone who suffers from vertigo might want to think twice before attempting the course, although my partner managed the introductory course quite well. There are two courses: one on which to practise, and a more advanced longer course that ends in a wonderful zip line that speeds you through the trees. It's set in the trees around Rothiemurchus next to a quick-flowing river, so the setting is beautiful. The friendly staff went out of their way to accommodate my diabetic friend, who went low during the course. Well worth a visit.
  • Good fun with the family, Boyd 8 & 9 enjoyed it.
  • A great adventure, where my teenager was coached by the excellent staff to overcome his fear of heights
