We had a two hour family canoe experience. This was one hour with our instructor, Dave, and then an hour to do our own thing under the watchful eye of staff on the beach. Fantastic experience with all...  more »

We had a fantastic time paddle boarding, great equipment, good wetsuits, will definitely return! The only improvement I'd like to see would be showers in the changing rooms!  more »

  • My girlfriend and I did a beginner's sailing lesson here last weekend. It was brilliant! The weather was not good on Saturday but they were very accommodating and let us postpone it until Sunday. Jamie our instructor was really friendly and patient and gave us loads of tips. Also had a great chat with Scott! Great guy. Would thoroughly recommend and we hope to go back soon! Thanks guys
  • Good location at the sand beach. Cafe is expensive due to no competition nearby. Decent selection of water sports
  • Great setting, great beach and great for watersports but I'd avoid during very hot weather as this can attract the young beer brigade.
  • Nice place to grab some food whilst you are in the area. The care serves home baked delights plus tea and coffee. Below you can hire boats for 1 - 5 people and head off around the lakes.
  • Well run operation, we were kitted out in record time and in our boats/on boards/ in kayaks within 15 minutes of arrival, despite it being a glorious sunny and warm day. Prices were pretty reasonable as well.

Where to stay in Aviemore

Aviemore is a resort area inside the Glenmore Forest Park protected area. Most lodging, both hotel chains and major resorts, are concentrated around the town's main road and the River Spey. Consider a B&B or guesthouse slightly deeper in the park from Aviemore. These offer luxury stays among what feels like untouched natural scenery.
