  • Walks are ok but the fact that the cafe doesn’t allow dogs is just ridiculous! It’s a nature reserve!  more »
  • Beautiful circuit of wetland and wildlife that is perfect for taking your dog out. Really recommend the day.  more »

  • What an amazing place to visit! I just couldn't believe that this was in the centre of Nottingham. I felt like i was in the countryside with all of the wild life, trees, flowers and a larger lake it was a nice surprise. It's a perfect place to take your family, kids and furry four legged kids, you could spend hours here walking, cycling, running along the extensive miles of paths surrounding the lake and land connected to it. I spent around four hours here taking photographs of nature and walking my dog. The weekdays are much quieter than at weekends. Perfect for bird watching or having a relaxing time away from the stresses and strains of life or house work. It is a perfect place for people with mobility issues as the paths are fully accessible for wheelchairs, scooters and people using walking frames although some of the paths are a little hilly and steep in places.
  • Great place for a wander around. Lots of bird watching/photographic opportunities with many bird hides. Busy with families , couples and singles. Good pathways around the water ways all flat not muddy and easy to negotiate with lots of seats scattered around therefore good for young and old. There is a cafe with toilet facilities and a gift shop dogs not allowed though. The cafe has panoramic windows providing lots of light and views of the water and birds. There is an outside seating area too. Well worth a visit.
  • Very nice area surrounded by nature. We observed the birth of a goose in its nest (see image :D). Also it can be reached from Nottingham after a nice ride by bike. It was very pleasant.
  • Lovely scenic walk round the water reserve and along the bank of the Trent. Usually an ice cream van at the edge of the Car Park near the visitors centre/cafe. Car Park is £3 all day and cafe is pretty good for a drink and snack.
  • A beautiful Nature Reserve with walks that enable you to see the lakes and wildlife aplenty. A fantastic Centre that has a cafe serving food and drinks as well as gifts. Car Parking is available but limited to a certain number of vehicles.
