  • I've been coming here for years, at different times of the year and there's always something to see. Today I spent time in the Sand Martin Hide - where else could you see these birds fluttering agains...  more »
  • For families walking or cycling through the beautiful nature reserve, the nature centre is a great stopping off point. Plenty of loos plus there are some (free) child-friendly resources out back, including a sandmartin hide (great for older kids who are able to keep quiet!). The coffee shop/cafe sells very tasty food that is fairly reasonably priced, and the ice creams are particularly delicious. There's also a very nice gift shop that sells duck feed very cheaply - again, great for keeping little ones occupied!
  • Very large site, loads of wildlife to see. Allow a few hours to fully explore and bring binoculars. There is a well stocked cafe and shop near the car pack. Free water too which is a nice touch.
  • Great place. First visit due to the distance from home. Lots of wildlife to see - saw our first ever whitethroat. It'll take several visits before we get around all the paths, never mind spend time in the hides or looking through the screens.
  • An amazing and huge nature reserve full of birds and other wildlife. Great for families, twitchers, or just walking around the lakes or along the river. Check out the cafe/shop in the middle of the lake too
  • A great place for a day out. Lots of space to walk, almost all paved so suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. Parking is £3 but entry to the reserve is free. There is a nice cafe in the visitors centre but this can get very busy at peak times.
