Spend a day of family fun in the heart of the national forest at Conkers. Set on over 48 hectares (120 acres) of woodland area, the center offers attractions for the whole family, including a simulated treetop walk, indoor water play area, and numerous interactive children’s exhibits. Head outside to have a go at the assault course, or try your hand at laser clay pigeon shooting. If the weather is nice, take the 450 m (490 yd) tranquil barefoot walk through the forest for a relaxing natural experience. Was really looking forward to a good day outdoors expecting a good number of outdoor play areas and wooded areas to explore. We were unfortunately bitterly disappointed and disgusted at some parts whe... more »
had a lovely time in conkers in ashby. Staff were really nice. I was served by a sweet lady called Ellie.I would tell them to improve their indoor activities though. Peppa pig was mucky!! more »
I visited centre with a young man I support, who was keen to look at the displays and have a fun day out. We left rather disappointed by the number of broken displays and interactive items, as well as... more »
OK for younger children and early teens. Older teens will probably get bored quick unless they are really into climbing. Good points - Reasonable indoor activities including soft play but not a huge space. Good cafeterias. Highlight is probably the assault course trail. Had plenty of Dads finding out they weren't as young as they used to be. Plenty of walking space. There are add on activities including the rip slide and big climbing frame. The downside - very busy quing to get in even if you had booked online but that eased during the day. The "flagship" activities are at additional cost. Toilet facilities appeared to be very limited. Some of the features like the tree top walk were underwhelming even for an 8 year old. Summary. Good for children and younger teens. For older teens, not enough for them to do; expect the phones to come out after two hours unless you pay for the extras. A good tip is to book the 4D cinema time slot when you arrive.
On a fine day, you can fill several hours at Conkers. Our kids especially love the assault course, barefoot walk and adventure playground. Conkers often have Groupon offers, making your family day out good value for money.
Conkers was amazing, though i was unaware that some of the activities required extra payment. And you need to be 1.4m to go on the high ropes. The grounds are beautiful and the 4d cinema was hilarious. A great family day out that requires a little bit of pre planning. Also very good for team building.
Really nice place to take the kids on a day out. Lot of things to do and enjoy. Take a picnic with you if it's a nice day. Though you are able to attend the car to collect the picnic, it's better to try and pack it for portability as you could end up on the other end of the nature reserve when its time to eat. We've always loved coming here and will continue to.
Amazing 4D cinema. Fun indoor play area. Challenging but fun obstacle course. Lots of things for young ones to do and learn. Animals to see and a reasonably priced cafe with good choice of food. Huge outdoor space for lots of walking.
