Thrill yourself at the races at Ascot Racecourse. View the muscle definition and power behind these magnificent animals up-close from the Pre-Parade Ring as they are saddled before each race. At the parade ring, size up the horses before you place your bet. Watch the race from the rails to get as close as possible to the horses as they thunder past. Adhering to a dress code is expected, so check on guidelines beforehand. I had a magical time in the Royal Enclosure at Ascot, which has an almost other worldly quality to it - a tiny preserved piece of a more elegant era. We went on the Wednesday, when it wasn't too busy, but still plenty of very elegantly dressed people to admire. The hospitality packages are eye wateringly expensive but the food was actually very good, it was really nice to have our own dedicated table as a base throughout the day, and we were very well looked after by the staff. Not to mention the free flowing Champagne!
A beautiful venue with some of the most famous racing in the UK. During "Ascot Week" it becomes a hustling bustling place catering the people who visit from all over the country. On the less well known meets it hosts some serious racing with a far more down to earth atmosphere. Whenever you visit it's a great day out for everyone
something you have to do to tick off your english bucket list. I've been twice with the most recent for the royal ascot. it was quite exciting to watch the queen go by on her little carriage. the racecourse is a bit of a walk from the train station but definitely doable. the traffic is busy so it's probably faster to walk. prices for drinks are not cheap - we paid £30 for a jug of pimms. just check certain tickets as the one we got let us bring a picnic basket with our own food and a bottle of sparkling wine each which saves some coin. also some areas have strict dress codes like top hats and size of fasteners. overall a lovely day out to get fancy.
Fantastic day out, brilliant staff... The food and drink is quite costly but most took their own food, which I'll be doing next time. 100% worth a visit :)
I went here during a corporate event and then met friends afterwards I had a thoroughly enjoyable day the drinks were flowing it was easy to get served and I would definitely go again.
