  • Terrible service in the cafe, hot chocolate was cold, asked for another one and that one was full of chocolate powder clumps!! Disgusting! The staff need to know what customer service is, if I’m going...  more »
  • Beautifully restored after a fire the house and grounds are well worth a visit. All the buildings already within a most with entry via a bridge and the original gatehouse. The house is full of history...  more »
  • Really enjoyed visiting Michelham Priory, lots of interesting stories about people who have occupied the priory throughout history. Lovely gardens, a cafe and gift shop, the grounds also boast the longest moat in England which is pretty impressive. There is a water Mill which is still in use as well as demonstrations from the blacksmith (check website as I'm not sure if the mill and blacksmith demos can be seen at all times) There is also a barn which can be hired out for weddings. There is something for everyone here as well as activities for children! Would recommend a visit to this little gem!
  • Serene, beautiful and very well maintained. Terrific cafe with tasty homemade food. The Great Barn is a sight to behold. The perfect venue. Priory honey 'Trevor's bees' sold in the shop.
  • Historic and very beautiful, this is a good place for a quiet dignified function or event, however if you're thinking of a wedding reception then beware! DJs are frowned upon and are absolutely not allowed to use commercial sound equipment; they are required to use the old, weak and unstable sound system installed in the venue and limited lighting. I experienced one first dance completely ruined by this sound system, which frequently cuts out and varies wildly in volume, with each of the speakers randomly working.or not. if you want music, book a band. preferably a quiet one, as if they play too loud, the sound limiter turns a off the power to the performance area... Quiet, dignified events only.
  • I really enjoyed our visit here, the old Priory surrounded by a moat, so plenty of garden to look round and walks around the moat. Many lovely sculptures in amongst the flowers. Great place for a quite relaxing day out.
  • Beautiful gardens and house. Lovely coffee shop selling food and drinks. The gardens are spectacular in spring when the flowers are in bloom. Walking around the lake is quite stunning. Open most days throughout the year and they have something happening most weekend throughout summer. Great day out for the family.
