Tour iconic planes and watch the bustle of Manchester Airport’s runway at The Runway Visitor Park. Explore inside the decommissioned RAF aircraft, Nimrod, and the supersonic airliner, Concorde. To see inside Concorde you must take a guided tour, which should be booked in advance to guarantee a place. Head to the raised viewing mounds with a 180-degree view over Manchester Airport airfield to watch aircrafts take off and land. There’s also a play area for children to enjoy. For a bite to eat, visit the onsite restaurant, which offers views of Concorde and the runways. Remember your day with a plane-themed souvenir from the onsite shop. • This is a great activity on a clear day as it's an exciting visit for young children. There are areas for the children to play and also take a look inside a plane. Furthermore, it's a good day for all...  read more »
  • First visit today to attend a trade show in the concord building, the staff were horrible. All of the guests today would have been important customers of our host Carlsberg, however the staff on site ...  read more »
  • We went mainly to view Concorde but we stopped longer to watch the aircraft. We went in the cafe before viewing Concorde, decent price for a cuppa. We had a meal after our viewing in the restaurant, a...  read more »
  • A great place to watch the planes take off and land. Good views of the runway with planes taxing close to the viewing area for an up close look! There is also the Concord attraction which can be viewed for a modest fee - great if you want to see how the other half used to fly. There is a cafe/restaurant which serves a wide range of food however it is a little more expensive than your typical cafe. Check their website as they often have addition fun activities for kids.
  • Café and Restaurant adjacent. Aviation shop selling...aircraft related goodies. THEY HAVE A CONCORDE!
  • Excellent spot for viewing the planes coming in and going. There is a play park which the kids enjoyed plus a cafe (which we did not use). You can also see a Concorde in the adjacent hanger, however you have to pay extra to actually have a tour around it and you probably need to book quite a bit in advance. There are viewing mounds too to give you a better view and we had the odd pilot give us a wave! There are plenty of professional plane enthusiasts there, and many seem to come for the 747/A380s and go after that. The car park is plenty big enough, and although the place has no entry charges, the car park is very expensive! There is a pub at the end of the road leading down that people seem to use, we might do that next time!
  • Great day out. We took a picnic and spent 3 happy hours there. The field was incredibly muddy though.
  • Great day out but the food prices are insane!
