Farmers Market Flea Market
Altrincham is one of the original market towns. It's charter dates back to 1290. Situated at the intersection of the fertile Cheshire farm belt and the commercial commuter zone of Manchester the town has a long and important history.

Altrincham Market is now at the heart of the re-invention of the town to make it 'the' modern market town.

Weekends host the very popular themed weekend markets covering regional food producers, vintage fashion and furniture, home house & garden and contemporary craft.

Market House has been converted into a "permanent gusto hub and canteen where people can eat from a variety of top notch food slingers" (according to Olive Magazine).

Market House is home to 10 independent quality food operators including Honest Crust wood fired pizza "among the country's best"; Wolfhouse Kitchen (former Rose Bakery pastry & savoury chefs); Tender Cow (rare breed flat iron steak & chips); Jack in the Box (craft beers); Reserve Wines (BBC Food & Drink Kate Goodman's wine bar/shop); Great North Pie Co. (multi award winning pies); Sam Joseph (hand made chocolates) and Market House Coffee (serving Atkinsons of Lancaster coffee).

There are no table reservations, and at peak times it can be very, very busy!

  • No longer the wonderful general market. Largely craft and very expensive eating. The old market building is full of meals from £10 to £19. Overpriced.  more »
  • Great place, lovely food and drink all with a personal touch. Well thought out with plenty of staff on hand. The atmosphere is really cool and the surroundings are well worth a visit and add to the ambiance of the visit
  • Incredible food and drink purveyors clustered round a beautiful dining area plus lots of extra outdoor seating. Place your orders at the individual unit and give them your table number then sit back and wait for your delicious things to be brought to you. Great service and the very highest standard of produce.
  • Never had a bad meal yet. If you don't mind the scramble to get a seat. Gets very busy so just avoid obviously busy times. Love taking out of town visitors , they love it!
  • Reliably good food and atmosphere. Getting more expensive every week though.... That said, it's a real asset to Altrincham and the catalyst for a huge revamp of the area.
  • Fabulous food court with a large range of artisan foods and drinks, home made proper food with good quality ingredients. The prices are no more than you'd pay for any take away or cafe meal. Small childrens play area, bench seating and an amazing chatty atmosphere. It was lovely.
