  • The Hall wasn't open to the public but it really didn't matter as I thoroughly enjoyed the gardens. Beautiful place, great little tea room and lovely people.  more »
  • This is the best garden I have ever visited. It's like a cottage garden on speed. 65 acres of gorgeous plants and plenty of seating in peaceful locations where you are surrounded by colour. The home o...  more »

  • Delightful peaceful oasis of calm & tranquility. A real feeling of far from the madding crowd. Wonderfully arranged regular seats so even the frail should be able to manage to wander through, & enjoy at leisure, the delightful trees, shrubs & flowers. A visit to the tearoom is a must as the room itself is a delightful echo of bygone days & a pot of Earl Grey (proper full leaf tea) is essential.
  • Absolutely beautiful gardens, huge area, great for long walks for adults and children. The tea room is stunning and the food very good although a little bit expensive in my view. Having said that it's comparable with National Trust prices but better quality. It's also open late so ideal if you don't manage to get out early enough.
  • Possibly my favourite place to visit in Northumberland for a woodland walk. Beautiful well maintained gardens/woodland, lovely tearooms (high price) but high quality good. There is a entrance fee and dogs not allowed for the gardens but there is another entrance that does allow dogs and is free but no tearooms. Worth a visit.
  • Nice gardens, but some of the paths were muddy and we felt the teashop was pricey and overrated. The famous Earl Grey tea lacked flavour.
  • Wonderful arboretum, well worth a visit - in February there are snowdrops everywhere in all amounts. Plan a whole day for it, the area is really huge!
